Sherpani Baby Carrier – Adjust On The Fly
Sherpani Alpina, a new outdoor company offering a full line of packs for women, today announced the launch of the Rumba, the first backpack baby carrier with a harness that can be adjusted while the parent is wearing the pack. Because of its wide range of adjustability, this unisex pack fits torso sizes ranging from 16 to 22 inch to accommodate parents ranging from 5’2 to 6’4 inch.
Sherpani’s proprietary Backtrack OTF system allows parents to raise or lower the shoulder straps by pulling on an adjustment cord located at elbow level, making micro-adjustments while walking a snap. In addition, parents can swap the carrier back and forth without having to set the carrier down and wake up a sleeping child.
Another unique feature of the Rumba is its kickstand, which is designed to automatically stay open without the aid of any mechanisms, as long as a child is in the carrier. Parents never have to worry about the carrier collapsing with their child inside, or about a leg getting caught.
A full expedition suspension system, including load lifters for shoulder relief and fully padded waist belt and shoulder straps, offers extra comfort for the parent. A padded bucket seat, foot stirrups and full-coverage five point chest plate harness keep the child safe and secure. With 2800 cubic inches of storage space, the Rumba is ideal for hiking, overnight backcountry pursuits or around town.
Until now, parents had to stop what they were doing and put down their kid carrier in order readjust and share the pack, says Amy Fried, Sherpani’s Director of Sales and Marketing. With our new on-the-fly adjustment system and a five point child harness, our kid carriers offer maximum ease, comfort and security for both parent and child, whether around town or on the mountain.
