Toddler beds for growing children
Toddler beds become necessary when babies grow too big for their cribs. They exist to take your baby through the transition time when they are too big for a crib but not big enough for a regular bed. Some toddler beds are cribs to begin with but can be converted easily to toddler beds when the time is right.
When deciding if it’s time to move your baby out of his crib into one of the many designs of toddler beds keep this safety tip in mind. As soon as the distance measured from the top of the crib mattress in its lowest position, to the top of the side rails in their highest positions is less than ¾ of your baby’s height, the crib can no longer effectively contain the child. It is probably safer to switch to a toddler bed at this time.
Toddler beds are manufactured from wood, metal, plastic or just about any material a designer can think of. At this point your baby is developing his or her own personal preferences and you will be sure to hear about them. The toddler beds in the shape of cars would be a hit in any child’s bedroom.
