There are many baby products needed. They come in all shapes and sizes.

The list for baby products when you plan for a baby is endless. Not only is the list endless the safety considerations for each baby product is long. The list to choose from when going to buy baby products goes like this: high chairs, infant car seats, convertible car seats, toddler/booster seats, lightweight strollers, car seat/strollers, carriage strollers, double strollers, permanent gates, pressure gates, portable playyards, monitors, and swings. You get to choose. What you will find is that you need most of the list.

Where your choice is exercised is what product line, what price range and colour. The truth is you need most of what is stated. There are a few you could leave off your list, but due to safety standards for travelling you will find you need most.

When the baby is 5 to 6 months you will need to consider a high chair. Looking through the baby products at high chairs you will note there is several things to be sure of. Does it have a strap to strap the baby in. Is the placing and removal of the food tray easy. Is the mechanism for securing the food tray reliable. You want to make sure you do not jam the babies fingers when you take the food tray off and on.

Infant car seats which also are used as a baby carrier up to 22 lbs are found in the baby products department. You will need to use these in the back seat with the baby facing towards the back. When you have the seat out as a carrier, ensure that it fits into a shopping card easily.

Convertible car seats are the next one of the baby products you can purchase. This is when the baby is over the 22lbs for the infant car seat. It also must be faced to the rear of the car until the child is 20lbs or a year old.

Toddler/Booster Seats are something which is not required by law, but is recommended due to the seat belts not being designed for smaller children. If your child is 35 inches tall or 40lbs they can progress to the toddler baby products. By having a toddler/booster seat your child can sit easily in the back with the seat belt going across their bodies.

Strollers is another one of the baby products in which there is quite a selection. The Lightweight stroller or umbrella stroller, which it often is called, is not recommended for babies under 6 mths. They come in very lightweight and often are used as a second or backup stroller. You can find some more sturdier models if you really want a lightweight, but sturdy stroller.

When an infant is younger the car seat/stroller is often used, where you take the car seat out, place it in a holder with wheels and use it as a stroller. Its not as sturdy and you need to be sure that the car seat is firmly locked in to be safe.

Carriage/Strollers are another one of the baby products to choose from. The carriage part is like a bed, which can then be placed on a wheel base to form a baby carriage. As the child gets older you can then change it into a stroller. This often is expensive to begin with, but lasts through many stages of your child.

Double strollers are also on the baby products lists because often two children are born close together or you have twins. Here you can obtain a tandem stroller or side by side stroller. Tandem strollers are more popular because you can take them places where the side by side are to wide.

Another series of baby products to acquire are the gates. Once the baby begins moving then areas of the home, especially stairs will need to be guarded. Tops of stairs in particular it is recommended to get a permanent hardware gate. This means it is attached and stays there, in comparison with the pressure gates. Pressure gates are used where there is no safety involved, only keeping the child in a contained area.

Today the portable playyards are becoming favorite baby products for gifts. The are replacing the play pen, are lightweight and can be folded up and taken anywhere. They also come with a canopies for shade for the outside. They have several added features one of them being a bassinet, which is a great feature when the baby is small. They are becoming more popular as baby products for showers and other gifts.

Swings are also another popular gift and acquision from the baby products department. The soothing rocking of the swing helps keep a crying baby soothed and many parents say how valuable their swing is. Also some swings can turn into high chairs so the swing can be utilized for several years.

Baby products are here to stay. To be aware of the many and varied products on the market you need to know what is available and how to purchase the appropriate one for you.
