Century – Good Enough for Graco

Probably all parents are familiar with the name Century when they’re shopping for baby products. And Graco is a baby product name they’re sure to know, as well. But some parents may not know that the Century company, along with their fine line of products, was adopted by Graco in 1998. However, if they’ve tried to find Century Products’ website, they’ll know that they get automatically clicked through to Graco’s home website. So let’s look at their stories, their acquisitions, and their products.

Century built a fine reputation

Perhaps Century baby products should have been named Half-Century baby products, because that’s how long they’ve been producing their great lines of parent-pleasing products. It didn’t take them long to establish themselves in the baby product market, especially with their popular line Century car seats.

In a corporate world of acquisitions and takeovers, the success of the baby products industry hasn’t gone unnoticed. That’s why the established corporations are striving to expand by merging with, or buying, other successful companies. The Century story is a prime example of this.

Century Products of Macedonia, Ohio, was acquired in 1998 by Graco Baby Products. Graco was, in turn, acquired by Rubbermaid who was acquired by Newell. Now Graco and Century are part of the huge Newell Rubbermaid line of innovative and convenient products that help people wherever they work, play and live.

Century combines its great baby products with Graco’s wide selection

During its first fifty years in the baby products industry, Century designed and manufactured a superior line of great products that satisfied babies and parents alike. Their high quality is what attracted Graco to them in the first place. Because Graco had such high standards, they decided that adding Century products to their line would be a welcome and profitable addition. And they were right!

Now the lines of Century and Graco products are combined into one huge selection of the finest baby products in the world. And they’ve pretty well got the whole spectrum covered. They have highly-touted strollers, including the Graco travel systems, that allow parents to transport their sleeping babies from the car or the stroller to the house, without waking them up.

And speaking of the car, Century was well-known and well-respected, for their great line of car seats, starting with their convenient infant car seats and growing with the babies through to their convertible car seats, right up to their youth booster car seats. All their car seats meet their own high safety standards, as well as all government safety standards.

The Century/Graco line of baby items wouldn’t be complete without the treasured baby swing that Graco invented. What a wonderful addition to any parent’s baby product collection. Imagine, being able to get some work done, or being able to get some well-deserved rest, while your baby is rocked to sleep in one of Graco’s baby swings. They’re so versatile, with their adjustable reclining positions and swing speeds.

Century and Graco strollers are now one great line

How can you go wrong when you combine the baby items from two of the most reputable baby product companies in the world? When Graco acquired Century, they ended up with the best of the best. With this merger, the results have all but taken over the market. And strollers were a strength of both companies.

Century and Graco make all kinds of strollers. If you just want to get around quickly, with the least bulk and weight, then you’ll benefit from their superior line of lightweight strollers. Just fold them and hold them.

For those mothers blessed with more than one precious little darling, or perhaps even twins, there are the wonderful Century double strollers. And the way the other stroller manufacturers are heading, it probably won’t be long before Graco comes up with a triple baby stroller. What a great way to take all three babies out for a walk – all at the same time!

And, of course, if your three babies are triplets, then you’re probably very grateful for the baby strollers for triplets, so you can take them out and show them off to all the admiring passers-by.

When you’re out in your stroller with your baby, or babies as the case may be, you need to be prepared for all unexpected “emergencies”. For example, all Century and Graco strollers have ample storage space for diaper bags, so you’ll have quick access to those extra diapers or change of clothes. And if the weather changes unexpectedly, you’ll have your weather shield to protect your baby from the rain.

If your babies are awake and you want them to have a toy or something to play with, then the stroller toy trays are the answer. There are a number of other stroller accessories available form Century and Graco, too, so make sure you check out the Accessories page on our website.

Century and Graco have it all!

Nothing that a parent could possibly need for their baby has been left out of their inventory. If you’re looking for the ultimate in high chairs, then you’ll love the choices they give you.

High chairs have come a long way since the old wooden ones. Now, with lightweight plastic and aluminum, Century and Graco high chairs are designed for simple use, with one-hand adjustments to the height, and the ability to bring junior right up to the dinner table so they can eat as part of the family.

And if you’re out visiting (which parents love to do so often to show off their new baby), and there’s no high chair available where you’re going, then just take one of the convenient travel high chairs with you. They’re completely foldable and transportable.

Then there’s the complete line of baby furniture from Century and Graco. Wooden cribs are becoming a thing of the past now, just like the wooden high chair. Lightweight plastic is the way to go these days, and cribs are finding their way into this trend.

There’s a whole line of portable cribs available now. What could be better than taking your baby’s nursery with you when you’re visiting. After all, your little one is going to be exhausted after being passed around by all your family and friends, and what could be more convenient than being able to lay them down for a nap in a secure travel crib and not have to worry about them rolling off someone’s bed?

The list of Century/Graco baby products doesn’t end there. You can add to that list, bouncers, indoor playards, activity centers and nursery monitors. Speaking of monitors, have you checked out the handy monitors for the nursery? What a great thing to have to ease your concern and let you get on with something else while your baby’s sleeping. You can mount the monitor on the wall above your baby, and carry the speaker with you, using the handy belt clip. Then you’re always in touch, no matter where you are in the house.

So you can see that when Graco acquired Century, it was a merging of two baby product giants. And the result is a great line of baby items to make your job of bringing up your baby a simple and convenient one. So get online and check out Century’s selection. It’s the best!
