Graco Convertible Car Seats Make Transitional Growth Time Easier For Parents, Babies
Graco’s convertible car seats are designed for the in-between stage of a growing infant, offering rear-facing car seats for infants up to 30 pounds, as well as forward-facing seats for children 20 to 40 pounds (but less than 40 inches tall).
Graco’s ComfortSport™ 8437LIB in Lite Bright (navy and “lite” blue), ComfortSport™ 8630CLK in Clarke (navy and baby blue), ComfortSport™ 8630KBT in Kimberton (a preppy navy and tan look) and ComfortSport™ 8437BHN in Base Hit Navy are to be used as rear-facing car seats and are equipped with infant head support, 5-point harness for a snug fit in five places, front adjusting harnesses, a cup holder for snacking on-the-go, deep shell and cushy side wings for enhanced comfort and converts from a toddler seat for growing infants.
Graco’s ComfortSport™ 8431NEW in New Hope, the ComfortSport™ 8432BLK in Blue Kioto (blue fabric with barely noticeable raised blue dots) and the ComfortSport™ 8433SQM in Square Maze (blue-on-blue small square pattern) are strikingly similar to these, but also have a detachable head pillow and come with a nifty mesh pocket for storing snacks, toys, wipes, etc.
ComfortSport™ 8439SAN in Safety Net is a nice mocha color with a spiffy weave pattern. Despite it’s surprising great looks, this Graco convertible car seat is stocked with only the basics and is not available with the head pillow or sporty mesh pocket. However, the Graco ComfortSport™ Overhead Shield 8434TUC in Tucker certainly is. This car seat (in blue on blue with a gray base) sports all the basics, along with an overhead shield that serve to simplify the process one undergoes when getting their child in and out of the seat, two cup holders, and a 3-point harness system (vs. 5-point). The same holds true for the ComfortSport™ Overhead Shield 8438WEL in Wellington and the Century® Accel® SE Overhead Shield 45600LJTI in Jeti.
It’s the Century® 1500 STE™ 44164ELM in Elmer that looks smart with it’s navy fabric and plaid accents. However, this convertible car seat is streamlined and offers just the more important features, including the 5-point harness, soft head pillow, the ability to convert from and infant to a toddler seat, and is LATCH equipped for easy installation.
Perhaps the Cadillac of these converter seats in the Euro Graco ComfortSport™ 35500 in Arden, which is designed with two mesh pockets, the reliable 5-point harness system, front adjusting straps, deep shell and cushy side wings for enhanced comfort, a soft head pillow, the ability to convert from an infant seat to a toddler seat for your growing child, as well as LATCH equipment for easier installation.
Keep in mind; these car seats can be used rear-facing for infants up to 30 pounds. After that, the seat should be used forward-facing for children 20 to 40 pounds (up to 40 inches tall). The top of the child’s ears must be below the top edge of the convertible car seat and the child’s shoulders should not be above top harness slots.
